Online agency matching? You need some heavy equipment! There is no doubt that one of the most stressful jobs in online marketing is that of Business Development Director (or New Business Manager or whatever the trendy name is this week).
Everybody knows that there are hundreds of clients out there all looking for an online marketing agency to help them spend their newly found online marketing budgets. Clients want SEO, they want “pay per click”, they wants websites, they even sometimes want to find a new agency as soon as they have appointed the last one. But where are these clients?
As with most communications businesses, online marketing companies are pretty poor at promoting themselves. They should be experts at paid listings and should be everywhere online where clients are looking, but often they aren’t.
Business Developers often do a great job of branding and communicating the proposition, but finding the clients is never easy. Often the first you hear is when the agency they have just appointed is bragging about it in the press. If only there was an agency matching service, a company that acted like a dating service for clients and agencies.
Well now there is. Bulldoza Agency Matching has just launched and it does exactly that. Bulldoza help clients find the right agency for them. Bulldoza have a panel of pre-screened, accredited online agencies which they refer to when a client asks them to find a suitable online marketing partner.
“Clients know that they need an online agency with the right skills and sector experience” says Andy Brown, the Agency Director at Bulldoza. “But they also tell us there are other intangibles – agency fit – that are far harder to nail down during the pitch process and that sometimes seem impossible to assess prior to appointment”.
“At Bulldoza we help clients work through their brief so they really know what they want. That’s the basis for deciding who to shortlist from our panel”.
Bulldoza have recently helped a sports good client and a mortgage company find the right online marketing partner. They are currently helping a large financial service provide review their search engine optimisation needs.
“We still need more agencies” says Brown. “We’ve got a good list, but to cover search engine optimisation (SEO), paid listings, website development and web programming for large and small clients across the UK, we need to have more choice at our disposal”.
Any interested agencies will have to go through the Bulldoza Accreditation process but once they have done so, they will be put into the agency matching process when new clients appoint Bulldoza to help them find their perfect match.
